In the 419

I haven't been reading The Register as much as I used to, so some of y'all might think this is hella old, but I think its worth blogging anyway. Many of my readers may have received those "419" scam emails, inviting the recipient to help reclaim a sizable wad of cash in Nigeria. The first time I received one, I found it reminiscent of the David Mamet flick, The Spanish Prisoner.

Anyway, The Reg now offers a T-Shirt that reads, "My Money Went to Nigeria and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt." I couldn't say it better myself.

Update: After I posted this, I ran across this story in Slate that asserts that 419 scams are driving the market for Internet access in Nigeria.
